What Our Students Thought Of Us

I joined the Royal Navy after finishing a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship at the age of 20.  I completed just under 30 years of service as both a Stoker and later a Submarine Coxswain, both roles had their challenges and both were enjoyable. Believe me I have no regrets in serving! I decided to leave the service before my 50th birthday and attended the CTP resettlement course in Plymouth, this was run by a team who gave me great guidance on what was available to me and luckily this was where I met Brian, Trevor and later Maureen. I completed the NEBOSH General, Construction and Fire safety management certificates under Brian’s guidance.

On leaving the Navy I found myself in the Rail Industry working for Serco Rail Technical Services at Network Rail’s Rail Innovation and Development Centre in Melton Mowbray. Brian had kept in touch during my transition to civvie life, he didn’t need to but this just shows his commitment to his students. I decided to attempt the NVQ Diploma in September 2016 with CCS Training Ltd (why change a winning team!) and with Brian and Trevor’s advice and guidance, I successfully completed it in August this year.

I work in an industry that prides itself in its safety culture and I consider myself blessed that I have had the opportunity to learn off others within this industry and still have CCS Training Ltd to rely on.  These guys never give up on you! I am now in my second career and through the opportunities provided by CTP and CCS Training Ltd I have found focus and a future. Life continues after leaving the services and yes it is a culture shock but Industry loves Ex Service personnel (I seem to be surrounded by ex RAF and Army spinning dits!).

Guys I owe my second career to your guidance and for that I will always be grateful.

After a very successful 13 years in the Army and in preparation for leaving I opted to include and complete NEBOSH certificates with CCS training.  The period of classroom instruction from Trevor was excellent and allowed me to attain very good results; I found the revision methods used to prepare for the exams and life as a HSE professional in general were extremely constructive.
I chose to stick with CCS training to complete an NVQ diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, where once again Trevor performed as my vocational assessor, with Maureen providing the verification of my work to C&G standards.  As my career as a HSE professional continues and progresses, I will definitely ask CCS to help me with gaining more very recognised and valuable qualifications…Next up for me will be a good certificate in the environmental discipline so I can prove my competence in this area and confidently sell myself as a complete and accomplished HSE expert.
I would highly recommend CCS Training to any experience colleagues or those looking to begin a new career using a qualification  that CCS delivers.
The training and qualifications provided by CCS has been pivotal in forging my career as a Health and Safety consultant.  A very big thank you (so far) to all the team at CCS.

Just want to say a big thanks mate, I managed to get a distinction from the course!
I thought your teaching methods were spot on and you made a potentially dull subject interesting and definitely easier to learn. All the best Daz Day

It is my pleasure to express my gratitude and appreciation to the management and staff of CCS Training Limited for creating an enabling environment for the successful completion on the above mentioned course. The course was exceptionally taught and the tutors while addressing the overall problems of individual students did not fail to pay particular attention when it was required.

I left the Royal Navy in 2009 and during my resettlement I completed the following qualifications with CCS Training, NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupation Health and Safety; NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety Management, NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety. I gained employment as a BTEC Level 2/3 Public Service Tutor at Discovery College YMCA Plymouth. Six years on I am now the Health and Safety Trainer and adviser, who has just completed a Level 5 City and Guilds in Occupational Health and Safety practice with CCS Training, my trainers throughout this qualification Trever Miller; Brian McGuiness and Maureen Miller.  During my time of studying with CCS training I have found them to be helpful with all of the advice and guidance to help me successfully complete my training, Trevor and Brian are dynamic and helpful in all areas of their work with an impressive level of health and safety industry knowledge. Trevor and Brian are both great mentors for aspiring Health and Safety Trainers and consultants.  As masters of their craft they are always available to help you through areas you may be struggling through. Trevor and Maureen Miller are an outstanding team and fully understand how difficult the transition from serviceman to civilian can be.  They have always been there for me and they have been instrumental in helping me with my successful transition into the world of Health and Safety Training and Consultancy as I am now on my way to becoming a Chartered member of Occupational Safety and Health. I would recommend CCS to anyone, their holistic approach to training has given me the confidence to be a focused knowledgeable Health and Safety Practitioner thank you for everything you have done for me.

Health & Safety Training Advisor, Discovery College YMCA Plymouth

The whole process from my first enquiry to saying cheerio after the last exam was brilliant, CCS are a very easy company to deal with, very helpful and I would not hesitate for a second in recommending anyone who wants to learn about health and safety to use CCS Training. Our Instructor (Trev) had a common sense approach to health and safety, very knowledgeable and backed up with years of experience, any advice given was always constructive, helpful and easily understandable. The course itself was challenging at times but our instructor focused more on the parts of the course that our class found slightly harder to grasp ensuring the best chance of success for the students. Being new to the industry I found the course was a valuable first step into health and safety, I found it beneficial and feel it has given me the foundations good enough to further develop my career in health and safety. Hopefully I’ll be back for the diploma at some point.

The course itself is new as Trevor advised us but I did find it beneficial and it was what I expected very intense.. Trevor was brilliant and had great teaching techniques, he also went that extra mile and explained everything; however the other tutor was a nice person but he was not as skilled and didn’t explain things as clearly. Overall we all enjoyed the four week training course even though it was hard work and we had to study lots as expected.I think the course will help me a great deal in the future as it is a recognised qualification in the industry I am hoping to find employment.I would recommend your company without a shadow of a doubt as I really enjoyed the whole experience. I would like to say a big thank-you to you both. keep in touch.

I whole-heartedly and without reservation, recommend CCS Training Ltd to any individual or company seeking Occupational Safety & Health certification for their employees.
As we are moving quickly towards a true global economy & a consolidation of safety standards for all workers, the International Certificate in Health & Safety Management course provides me with a better understanding of best practices on a global scale. Having worked in Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Sweden, and countless other locations, the ICHSM is the certificate to have for those interested in working abroad and is rapidly becoming a sought-after credential for the US market as well.
The support from CCs Training Ltd is unparalleled; before, during, and after completion of the course. The instructors are knowledgeable, helpful, and engaging…they WANT you to succeed and will provide the training you need to successfully complete the course.

Attending the ICHSM course provided me with a larger scope of knowledge that I hope to use in the International HSE community. The instructor for the course was excellent. I believe my Credit score is a reflection on the instructor and the course.

CCS Training staff and trainer conducted themselves in a professional and friendly manner. Their staff are approachable and willing to adopt packages to meet on individual needs. As we have a number of sites around the UK, flexibility is key when looking to book training providers and we feel that CCS excel at providing support and delivering training no matter where the venue. CCS exceed expectations in every way and we receive positive feedback from delegates.

EAGA Partnership

Having attended Managing with Environmental Sustainability through CCS Training Ltd at their Newcastle venue I can wholeheartedly recommend it. The knowledge, guidance and support provided by the trainer during the course is excellent as are the training materials.

So successful was the training that the course has been proposed as a compliment to the IOSH Managing Safely to be delivered as part of the development plans for managers and supervisors within the Group.
